The sensor (5) has a body (11) provided with a pressure chamber (10) to receive a fluid, and a cover (14) fixed to the body. A diaphragm (12) is arranged between the body and the cover for closing the chamber in a sealed manner. A peripheral region (13) of the diaphragm is arranged between a support element (21) i.e. O-ring, and a stop strip (25). The peripheral region is pivoted on the strip when the diaphragm is bent under an effect of increase in pressure of the fluid in the chamber. A contact stop surface (20) is provided between the strip and a central opening (15) of the cover. The diaphragm is formed by a flat metallic disk. An independent claim is also included for a depth gauge comprising a casing.
