PURPOSE: A method and a device for guiding a composition, and a digital photographing apparatus thereof are provided to automatically display a composition the most suitable for scene recognition information and subject information, thereby providing the most suitable composition. CONSTITUTION: A scene information detecting unit(73) detects scene information from an input image. A scene recognizing unit(74) uses the scene information to recognize a scene of the input image. A controller(71) extracts the composition information according to the scene from a composition database(76) and displays the composition information. An image information analysis unit(75) analyzes characteristic information of the input image. The controller extracts composition information based on the recognized scene based on the characteristic information of the input image.
