[Class 64 (iii).] Baffles or retarders 3 for the tubes 2 of air heaters through which pass the waste gases from a boiler furnace are supported by two curved spring blades 1 which normally lie beyond the upper end of the tube spaced apart a distance greater than the diameter of the tube. The blades are rounded at 1<2> so that when pressed together they may be passed through the tube. The blades may be formed with a flat part 1<3> secured to the end of the retarder by rivets 4 or the retarder may comprise a twisted blade having its upper end split, curved and spread into the desired shape. |
