A gas bag (28) and a gas generator (30) are held in an airbag package (18) made from foamed plastic and fastened on a supporting part (14) on a vehicle's side. The adsorptive capacity/pore volume amounts to at least 10 percent, preferably at least 20 percent, especially preferably at least 30 percent, of the total capacity/volume of the airbag package and/or the airbag package has closed pores (44). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) An internal motor-vehicle device with an airbag module; (2) A method for producing an airbag module.
