The veterinary thermometer has a handle part (2) and a shaft (3) adjacent to the handle part. A temperature sensor (4) is attached to the tip of the shaft. The handle part has a power supply, a circuit board and a display (5). The display is arranged at the front side of the handle part opposite to the beginning of the shaft in an angle with respect to the vertical axis of the handle.
