摘要 The invention relates to railway transport and concerns brake equipment, namely brake shoes of the railway rolling stock. A bimetallic car brake shoe (further the shoe) is designed for the railway rolling stock, both by foreign and domestic manufacture. The bimetallic car brake shoe contains bowingly arched cast-iron bar having from the rear side a boss, located transversely in the middle, with an aperture for a wedge locket for fastening in a shoe holder, the bar is made by casting cast iron into a form. Cylindrical inserts are placed in longitudinal rows in the bar body, the inserts are made of the material that has higher abrasivity, than the material of the bar. The inserts are placed in two groups and divided by a section without inserts. The inserts are attached by the electric welding to a steel plate, covering and repeating the shape of the bar rear side. The steel plate is made perforated with round apertures of diameter 25 mm, according to the scheme of placing the inserts in the bar body, so that two inserts are located opposite each aperture. In this case, the end faces of the inserts overlap the area of the round aperture on 1/3. The end faces of the inserts are welded on the edge of the aperture by the electric welding. When casting cast iron, the form is filled so that the apertures in the steel plate were filled with cast iron. Quadrangular apertures for cast-iron bosses, having a form of a channel bar in section, are made at the ends of the steel plate. The length of the section without inserts K exceeds the width of the boss C and is determined according to the formula:where K is the length of the shoe section without inserts; C is the width of the boss. Claimed construction makes it possible to achieve the regular wear of the shoe and a roll surface of the wheels. This eliminates the appearance of the circular grooves on the surface of the wheels during the life cycle and blocking the wheels in all modes of braking in all weathers and at any season, absence of burns, grease and sliders on the roll surface of the wheels is provided – the shoe creates the saving mode of the braking for the wheels when braking.
