The boiler has a boiler wall (1) provided with multiple parts, which exhibit a thermal coating as a wear protective measure. The thermal coating is partially laid in area in the boiler wall, where an erosion-causing flow passes from the boiler wall to the thermal coating during an operation of the boiler. Thickness of the thermal coating is constant in non-laid area, and decreases at the laid area of the thermal coating. The boiler wall is partly designed as a heat exchanger (2). A mounting aid is formed as a metal sheet that is adapted to a contour of the boiler wall. An independent claim is also included for a method for a thermal coating of a power station boiler as a wear protective measure.
