The heat exchanger has outer pipes (10) arranged on a grid and including ends, which are supported by a base plate. The outer pipes run parallel to each other and have inner walls that are provided with fins (14) protruded to lumen sections. Each outer pipe receives an inner pipe (16) that is guided from the fins. Guiding units are provided around an outer wall of the outer pipes for guiding a medium e.g. air, to be heated. Another base plate supports ends of the inner pipe, which guides another medium to be heated. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a heat exchanger.
