PURPOSE: A composition containing natural plant extract for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases or asthma is provided to suppress inflammation and asthma without cytotoxicity. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases contains Lilium lancifolium syn. L. tigrinum extract or fraction thereof as an active ingredient. A composition for preventing or treating asthma contains the Lilium lancifolium syn. L. tigrinum extract or fraction thereof as an active ingredient. A method for manufacturing Lilium lancifolium syn. L. tigrinum extract comprises: a step of pulverizing dried Lilium lancifolium syn. L. tigrinum and adding methanol; a step of suspending and adding butanol; a step of filtering the butanol extract; and a step of decompressing the extract. A method for preparing the fraction of Lilium lancifolium syn. L. tigrinum extract comprises: a step of adsorbing the Lilium lancifolium syn. L. tigrinum extract on a silica gel; and a step of enhancing concentration gradient of choloform-methnaol mixture solvent on the silica gel.
