The basket (1) has side walls (2) and a base (3) provided with openings (4), and retainers (5) provided at the base for an electronic article surveillance (EAS) marker. The retainers are formed in rectangular shape, which corresponds to a shape of the EAS marker. The retainers exhibit breadth of 12 mm and length of 47 mm, where the basket is made of plastic material. A set of bars (7) is provided at the base, and another set of bars (8) is provided along a length of an edge or periphery of the base. The retainers are provided between the latter set of bars and a third set of bars (9).
