The motor vehicle (10) has an image detecting device (20) for detecting images of a vehicle environment and for generating image data. A processing device (30) is provided for processing image data to identify traffic signs, and a display device (40) is provided for representing the identified traffic signs. An operating device directly selects the context displayed in the display device, which comprises an activated menu point for traffic sign recognition. The recognized traffic sign is displayed on the display device, when the menu point is activated for traffic sign recognition. An independent claim is also included for a method for traffic sign recognition with a motor vehicle.
