<p>The transmission has a shaft provided with a shaft disk, and a roller body arranged between the shaft disk and a counter disk in frictionally engaged manner. An annular disk is fixedly and co-rotatingly fastened on the shaft and connected with the disk by elastic connecting devices. A rotary sensor is synchronously arranged on the shaft disk and the annular disk. The sensor is in reciprocation in position along an oblique plane. The sensor represents optical path difference between the shaft disk and the annular disk as direct displacement of the position along the oblique plane. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for controlling continuously variable transmission (2) a method for controlling continuously variable transmission.</p>
