The method for the production of a component for vehicle body, comprises coating a part (12) of the component through treatment with a zinc powder mixture at 300-600[deg] C with a zinc diffusion layer (16) by cathodic dip coating, where a metallic part of the component is joined with a further part (14) for producing a composite component. The part is coated by cathodic dip coating after or before the joining. A further part made of metal and/or metal alloy is used, which is coated with the zinc diffusion layer. The joining process is carried out by adhesive.
