The system has a clamping device (22) provided between an adapter clamping device (20) e.g. adapter clamping nut, and an adapter (18). The clamping device comprises clamping elements e.g. partial ring segments, with a rectangular cross section. The segments comprises two sides with contact surfaces respectively formed at clamping surfaces of the adapter and the adapter clamping device, where a collet chuck device is held in receiver of a spindle (2), and the adapter is fixed at the spindle by the adapter clamping device.
