The system has a bypass valve (1) whose control line (13) is connected to a digital control device (10). An input of the control device is connected to a temperature measuring device (7) e.g. platinum resistor. Opening or closing of a water outlet valve (2) of a water outlet (3) is caused by the control device in response to actuation of an actuating device (8). The bypass valve is opened during thermal disinfection. Data about the actuation is transmitted from the outlet to the control device. Measured values of outlet temperature are transmitted to the control device by the measuring device. An independent claim is also included for a method for retrofitting a water supply plant.
