A method and terminal for feeding back channel quality information (CQI) of sub- bands over all bands are disclosed in the present invention, and relate to the field of communications. The method includes that: the terminal orders all the sub-bands included in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system according to the CQI value of each sub-band, classifies all the ordered sub-bands in order, and respectively feeds back the classified sub-bands CQI of each class to a base station (BS). With the technical scheme of the present invention, the BS can acquire several optimal sub-bands and the CQI thereof, and the channel information of the other sub-bands besides the best sub-bands; meanwhile, the BS can acquire the channel information of the worst sub-band corresponding to the specific mobile terminal (MS).
