[Class 133.] In a combined racket press and cover wherein the press frames are interconnected at the corners by compression bolts, the cover is positioned entirely between the frames and is provided with holes adjacent to the edges, for receiving two or more of the bolts, which also serve to hold the cover in a flat stretched-out position. As shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the clamping bolts 19 of the frame members 17, 18 pass through eyelets in the cover 12 which is thus secured in position between the frames. The racket may be introduced into the cover at an opening 15. Springs 23 tend to open the cover. To economize material, only the bolts at the narrow end of the press may pass through the cover which may be reduced in width at the other end. In a modification, instead of the bolts passing through the cover, spring hooks 29, Fig. 5, or eyelets 34, Fig. 6, may be secured to the edges of the cover in suitable positions to engage the bolts. In a further modification the constituent portions of the frames are broadened, or the press otherwise modified so as to make contact all round the racket frame and thus form an airtight closure for the gut.</p> |
