Disclosed is a photoelectromotive device comprising a semiconductor substrate (1) of a first conduction type having such an impurity-diffused layer (3) on one face side as has an impurity element of a second conduction type diffused, a reflection preventing film (4) formed over the impurity-diffused layer, first electrodes (5) connected electrically with the impurity-diffused layer (3) through the reflection preventing film (4), a back insulating film (8) so formed on the other face side of the semiconductor substrate (1) as has a plurality of openings (8a) to reach the other face side of the semiconductor substrate (1), second electrodes (9) buried in at least the openings (8a) and connected electrically with the other face side of the semiconductor substrate (1), and a back reflecting film (10) either made of a metal film formed by a vapor-phase growth method or constituted to include a metal foil, and formed to cover at least the back insulating film (8).
