Disclosed are a light emitting element, method of producing the same, lamp, electronic equipment, and a mechanical apparatus, wherein drive voltage is reduced and light extraction efficiency is improved. These are achieved by using a light emitting element (1) which comprises a stack obtained by stacking an n-type semiconductor layer (12), a light emission layer (13), a p-type semiconductor layer (14), and a titanium oxide-based conductive film layer (15) on a first surface of a substrate (11) in this order. In the light emitting element (1), a first oxide which contains an element that is either In, Al, or Ga and a second oxide which contains an element that is either Zn or Sn are present between the p-type semiconductor layer (14) and titanium oxide-based conductive film layer (15), and the mass ratio of the second oxide to the total of the first oxide and second oxide is 1 to 20 mass%.
