[Class 108 (iii).] A vibration - damper for damping torsional oscillations in a shaft includes an annular inertia member 19 attached to the shaft through the intermediary of an axially elongated rubber annulus 18 affording a frictional driving connection between the member 19 and the shaft. In a modification, the rubber sleeve may be vulcanized to the surfaces with which it contacts. As shown the member 19 and annulus 18 are mounted on a sleeve 14 attached to a sleeve 10 secured to the shaft. |
