Provided is an image capturing device for capturing an image of an object, the image of which is to be captured, by optically scanning the object by moving in a predetermined scanning direction. The image capturing device is provided with a light-receiving means which is disposed on the light-receiving surface of the image capturing device and stores electric charge according to the amount of light received from a light detection window the length of which in the scanning direction is shorter than the length in the scanning direction of an area defined as one pixel of the object, and an output means which outputs the electric charge stored by the light-receiving means when the light receiving means has completed the optical scanning of the area defined as one pixel.
