The invention relates to a method and a device for controlling a reverse-conducting IGBT (T1, T2). A measurement voltage (uM) determined from a measured collector-emitter voltage (UCE) is compared with a positive and negative reference voltage (uR+,uR-) for values which are higher or lower and a switching state of a target control signal (S* T 1,S* T 2) is used to produce an actual control signal (ST1,ST2). The invention provides a device for controlling a reverse-conducting IGBT (T1, T2) which allows the use of a low-resolution voltage detection unit.
