The invention relates to a system for communication between at least two telecommunication devices (100, 103), at least one of said devices being on-board an aircraft (100), said devices including a means for sending and/or receiving digital data, said data being classified into at least two categories, the first category corresponding to critical data, the second category corresponding to non-critical data. The data are transmitted by M antennas (101, 102) and received by N antennas (104, 105). An array H with a dimension of MxN representing the multi-antenna propagation channel is estimated and the data are transmitted according to a transmission mode selected from at least two multi-antenna modes. A first so-called sturdy mode uses an Alamouti scheme, and a second so-called high-speed mode uses a BLAST scheme. The critical data are sent using the sturdy mode, while the non-critical data are sent using one of the two multi-antenna modes. The high-speed mode is selected when the rank RH of the array H exceeds a previously selected threshold value SR. |
