<p>This invention involves a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag for normally RF-unfriendly articles or environments. Examples are metallic surfaces of most industrial and consumer equipment and articles containing liquid. This invention of an angled UHF RFID tag allows the tag to be easily and firmly affixed onto the article and minimizes metal/liquid RF signal interferences by effectively providing an air gap between the article surface and the tag antenna. For non-metallic-surfaces or non-liquid-containing articles, this invention offers multiple antenna orientations that improves RF signal reception and transmission. A useful embodiment of the invention is for tagging laptop computers which has LCD displays that interfere with RF signals and offer little non-metallic surfaces for deploying a UHF RFID passive tag effectively.
