Disclosed is a photosensitive letterpress printing original plate in which a heat-sensitive mask layer and a photosensitive resin layer are adhered to each other satisfactorily and the migration does not proceed over time, and which has excellent long-term stability. Specifically disclosed is a photosensitive letterpress printing original plate that can be developed with water, which is characterized by comprising at least (A) a support, (B) a photosensitive resin layer, and (C) a heat-sensitive mask layer laminated sequentially, wherein both the photosensitive resin layer (B) and the heat-sensitive mask layer (C) contain the same polar-group-containing polyamide (C3) and the heat-sensitive mask layer (C) comprises an amphipathic polymer (C2).
