PURPOSE: A method for providing a post box service of a cable communication terminal and a cable communication terminal therefor are provided to remotely check a stored message of a cable communication terminal through a mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: If a receiving call during absence is received through a network interface unit(110), a control unit(150) receives a post box message from a caller. The control unit stores the post box message in a post box message storage unit(160). An SMS(Short Message Service) message transmitting unit(170) transmits a notification SMS message for storing the post box message to a notification phone number.
