<p>An optical fiber amplifier comprises a pumping source (10) for generating pumping light; a first wave-combining and amplifying means (20), for receiving the pumping light and the input signal light, and amplifying the signal light under excitation of the pumping light after the pumping light and the signal light have been wave-combined, and outputting the processed wave-combined light; a ADM separator (30), for receiving the wave-combined light, separating the amplified signal light and the pumping light, and outputting them respectively; a dispersion-compensating means (40), for receiving the signal light output from the WDM separator (30), compensating the dispersion of the signal light, and outputting the signal light; a second wave-combining and amplifying means (50), for receiving the dispersion-compensated signal light and the pumping light output from the WDM separator (30), amplifying the signal light under excitation of the pumping light after the pumping light and the signal light have been wave-combined, and outputting the processed wave-combined light. A method for dispersion-compensating and amplifying of the signal light comprises corresponding steps.</p> |
