The invention relates to a device for storing and restoring mechanical energy, comprising: first and second drums (T1, T2) having parallel axes substantially opposite each other; a resilient means (7) that can be wound over the periphery of each of said drums; said axes being coupled by coupling means (3, 4, 6) such that the rotation of one drum results in a proportional angular rotation of the other, and such that the linear speed at the periphery of the first drum (T1) is higher than at that of the second drum (T2). The invention also relates to a propulsion system comprising two devices for storing and restoring energy. |
