An apparatus for increasing vehicle security is disclosed, comprising: means 104 for inputting a code; means 108 for opening and closing a vehicle fuel line; and at least one cable 106 connecting the two; wherein said means for inputting the code is removable. The means for entering the code may be a resistive touch screen interface or keypad for entering a pin number, or a numerical lock or voice recognition system. The means for opening and closing the fuel line may be a solenoid, and the input means is removable by means of a quick release electrical plug 110 so as to increase security. The solenoid may comprise a time delay so as to accommodate engine stalls. Prior to starting the vehicle engine the input device must be attached, and the code entered, so that the solenoid will allow fuel to flow.
