Disclosed is an engine pull-start mechanism having a lockable handle comprising a cord 8 and a handle or grip pull 3 and a retaining means having a cavity 2 in which the handle may be locked to prevent access to the handle. The arrangement may be such that the when located in the cavity the handle lies flush with the surrounding surface. The cavity may be part of a motor housing. The device is suitable for use on portable devices such as generators, outboard motors, lawn mower engines and chain-saw engines. |
