METHOD AND NC PART PROGRAM FOR CONTROLLING A LASER CUTTING SYSTEM

The invention relates to a method for controlling a laser cutting system (1) for cutting several pipe sections (51-54) from a pipe (2) using a laser beam (16). According to the invention, an NC program is created for each of the pipe parts (51-54) to be cut, said program having an initial separation cut for cutting the initial geometry (51a-54a) and a final separation cut for cutting the final geometry (51b-54b) of each pipe part (51-54). The machining of the pipe parts (51- 54) to be cut is carried out on the basis of the NC part programs. If specific basic machining conditions exist for at least one pipe part (51-54) to be cut, the programmed initial or final separation cut in the associated NC part program is deactivated and not carried out.
