<p>In a wireless communication system including a relay apparatus, when a data communication is performed between the relay apparatus and a terminal (along a second wireless transmission path), the same amount of data needs to be transmitted also between a base station and the relay apparatus (along a third wireless transmission path). Therefore, the amount of wireless communication resources required for the data transmission is an amount, which is inversely proportional to the capacity of the second wireless transmission path, plus an additional amount that is inversely proportional to the capacity of the third wireless transmission path. Thus, the wireless communication resources, the amount of which is inversely proportional to the capacity of the third wireless transmission path, are additionally consumed. It is decided based on the communication path quality of a first wireless communication path between the base station and the terminal, the communication path quality of the second wireless communication path between the terminal and the relay station, and the communication path quality of the third wireless communication path between the base station and the relay station, whether to use the relay apparatus to relay data communication between the base station and the terminal.</p> |
