PURPOSE: A smart browsing method for converting HTML into a teletext format in an STB is provided to conveniently search the contents of a web page by converting the web page of an HTML format. CONSTITUTION: If a key signal is inputted from a remote controller, a current webpage or an HTML(Hypertext Markup Language) of the webpage is converted to a teletext format(S302). A page consisting of a text converted in the teletext format is displayed(S303). In case the text converted to the teletext format is over unit page, the converted text is displayed by one sub page.
