METHOD FOR SCANNING NEIGHBORHOOD BASE STATION IN A BROADBAND WIRELESS ACCESS SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An efficient scanning performing method in broadband wireless access system is provided to assign the scanning section in sub frame unit thereby reducing the break time according to the scanning. CONSTITUTION: A terminal MS(Mobile Station) receives a AAI_SCN-RSP(Scan Response message) from a serving BS(Base Station). The AAI_SCN-RSP includes the first section information indicating reception interval of preamble of a neighbor BS. The terminal receives the preamble from the neighboring base station during the first section. The first section is set in sub frame unit.
