PURPOSE: A steady rest for an NC(Numerical Control) combination processing machine is provided so that if being not used, a steady rest returns to a parking position, the moving range of a tool relatively widens and thus a wide processing zone is obtained. CONSTITUTION: A steady rest(100) for an NC(Numerical Control) combination processing machine comprises a base(62), an LM(Linear Motion) rail, an LM guide, a body(140) and an actuator(130). The base is installed on a bed and horizontally moves by a transfer system(70). The LM rail is installed in the axial direction of a chuck. The LM guide is connected to the LM rail and moves linearly. The body is fixed to the LM guide. A jaw operates by the fluid pressure and is arranged on one side of the body. The actuator is arranged on one side of the base and moves the body.
