FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: method of producing heat energy involves formation of electro-plasma zones in a heat-generating assembly by passing electrical current through materials making up the heat-generating assembly and tapping heat from the heat-generating assembly. Radionuclides are used in the heat-generating assembly to create electro-plasma zones and a double capacitor electrical layer is created. A layer of ground material is formed on the surface of at least one electrode made from electroconductive material, into which radionuclides or particles with electret properties are put and partial diffusion of components of the said layer into the surface of the coating layer is provided. An electrically non-conducting film is formed in the zone for depositing the formed coating and the zone of the double capacitor electrical layer is ionised and electric discharge is excited by applying voltage.
