PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, although a high frequency heating element using magnetite as a high frequency absorbing material has excellent initial temperature rise performance, a change in crystal structure caused by oxidation causes the deterioration of the temperature rise performance and makes it difficult to brown a heated object, thus deteriorating durability and reliability as a heating cooker. SOLUTION: In a high frequency heating element 3 including magnetite, a hematite layer 8 is formed in a magnetite particle 7 in advance. Thus, since a change in crystal structure caused by oxidation by oxygen and steam etc. in air in a high temperature environment can be suppressed, excellent temperature rise performance can be achieved for a long time and both palatability and browning can be provided. By the hematite layer 8 formed in the magnetite particle 7, the cross-linking reaction of an elastomer 6 can be suppressed, and thus the heating cooker 1 capable of preventing the peeling and cracks of the high frequency heating element 3 and having excellent durability and reliability can be provided.
