PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device capable of cutting an end surface in a well finished state even for a rapidly passing metallic plate. SOLUTION: The cutting device includes: a carry base 1 movable in an x-direction (the width direction of a metal strip); a pair of bite carriers 2a and 2b provided on the carry base 1 to be movable in the x-direction; cutting bites 3 held in the respective bite carriers 2a and 2b; copy rolls 4 serving as vertical rolls capable of coming into contact with the end surface of a supplied metal strip and rotatably held in the respective bite carriers 2a and 2b; driving mechanisms 5 for applying push-in force in the x-direction to the respective bite carries 2a and 2b; and support rolls 6 respectively provided at a metal strip entrance position and an exit position on the carry base 1. Since a cutting means follows serpentine travel of the metallic plate and vibration caused by cutting can be suppressed, both end surfaces of the rapidly passing metallic plate can be cut in a well finished state.
