PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for mixing a raw material capable of increasing the treatment speed thereof and advantageous in improving the productivity thereof. SOLUTION: A base material B is stored in a first tank 12, and a catalyst C is stored in a second tank 14. A controller 38 opens a first automatic valve 68 and rotates a first servomotor M3 to start the transfer of the base material B by a gear pump 30. Thus, the base material B is transferred to a mixer 28 via the first tank 12, the gear pump 30, and a first flowmeter 34. The controller 38 rotates a second servomotor M4 to cause a cylinder pump 32 to suck and discharge the catalyst C. The catalyst C is transferred to the mixer 28 via the second tank 14, the cylinder pump 32, and a second flowmeter 36.
