PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float for fishing, capable of landing a fish by not necessarily artificially performing a "pull" with a fishing rod for a "hit" caused by the bite of the fish. SOLUTION: This float for fishing including of a float body 2 attached to fishing line and a float head part 3 installed at the float body 2, wherein the float body 2 has a buoyancy of meeting its upper end part approximately with water surface 10 under a weight relationship with a weight 9 in a fishing state, and besides, the float head part 3 has an opposing surface 3b to the water surface 10, having an area giving a relatively large sinking resistance toward the float body 2, and when the float body 2 sinks to a predetermined depth by the "hit" which is the bite of the fish, the opposing surface 3b receives the resistance by the water surface and gives the sinking resistance to the float body 2.
