PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage of a body fluid in a central area by securely fastening an absorbent article to underwear. SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes a front surface sheet 10 to abut to the skin of a wearer, a liquid-impermeable rear surface sheet 20 through which a liquid does not permeate, and an absorber 30. A pair of side sheets 201 and 202 extending in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article at a prescribed interval in the lateral direction of the absorbent article are disposed on the front surface sheet 10. The absorbent article 1 has fixed areas 101 and 102 to be fixed to the underwear of the wearer on the surface of the rear surface sheet 20 opposite from the skin of the wearer. The fixed area 101 and the side sheet 201 are disposed to partially face each other in the direction of thickness of the absorbent article 1.
