Use of an anti-interferon-alpha antibody for prevention and treatment of psoriasis

Disclosed is the use of an amount of a type I interferon (IFN) blocking agent in the preparation of a medicament for the prevention of psoriasis or psoriasis relapse, wherein the type I IFN blocking agent reduces IFN-alpha expression or activity in plasmacytoid dendritic cell precursors (PDCs) of uninvolved skin of a psoriatic subject or pre-psoriatic subject in need thereof, and wherein the type I IFN blocking agent is an anti-IFN-alpha antibody or fragment thereof that blocks IFN-alpha.
