Disclosed is the use of a decimal, centesimal or fifty millisemal attenuation (as hereinbefore defined) of a stereoisomer of a chemical agent selected from propanolol, U-50488 (2-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-N-methyl-N-[(1R,2R)-2-pyrrolidin-1-ylcyclohexyl]acetamide), BAY K8644 (methy 2,6-dimethyl-5-nitro-4-[2-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-1,4-dihydropyridine-3-carboxylate), a-methylbenzyl isocyanate and verapamil in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of a condition characterised by the toxic, physiological and/or pathological effects of said chemical agent.
