PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display element and a display which improve visual field dependency on white and provide superior light extraction efficiency. SOLUTION: An organic EL element is configured such that at least either of one of first and second electrodes 12 and 15 serving as a light-extracting electrode and an organic layer 13 has a resonance structure that resonates light emitted from a light-emitting layer 13c. A peak wavelength of the internal emission spectrum of the light-emitting layer 13c is matched to a peak wavelength of the multi-interference filter spectrum of the resonance portion so that the shape of the multi-interference filter spectrum of the resonance portion is changed as the position of the peak wavelength of the multi-interference filter spectrum is maintained.
