PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amine-based epoxy resin curing agent containing an amine compound and having good adhesion to polyester and polystyrene in addition to excellent performances which an epoxy resin has and high gas barrier performance, and to provide an epoxy resin composition containing the curing agent. SOLUTION: The amine-based epoxy resin curing agent contains a reaction product prepared by adding the following (C) to an oligomer comprising the following (A) and (B) to form a salt: (A) m-xylylenediamine or p-xylylenediamine, (B) a polyfunctional compound having at least one acyl group, which forms an amide group moiety and can form an oligomer by reaction with a polyamine, and (C) a polyfunctional compound having at least one functional group capable of forming a salt upon mixing with a polyamine.
