PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent charging sound of a main capacitor from being recorded in the case that moving image photographing is continued after a still image is photographed during the moving image photographing. SOLUTION: The type or the function of a strobe light emitting device connected to a camera is determined. When the strobe light emitting device is a silent strobe light emitting device, emission of strobe light is permitted to perform photographing of a still image during moving image photographing. When the strobe light emitting device is not a silent strobe light emitting device but a strobe light emitting device having a charge stop control function, light emission is permitted unless charging for emission of strobe light during moving image photographing is necessary, and thereafter, charging of the main capacitor is inhibited. When the strobe light emitting device is not a silent strobe light emitting device and has no charge stop control function is mounted, emission of strobe light upon still image photographing during moving image recording is inhibited.
