Disclosed is the use of an antibody, or antigen-binding fragment thereof, that binds a sialic acid binding motif of KIM-1 at an epitope contained within amino acids 29-42 or 81-107 of a specific sequence as defined in the specification in the manufacture of a medicament for treating asthma, atopy, allergic rhinitis, allergy or eczema in a mammal.
