<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mount structure of a gas sensor for shielding and radiating heat more efficiently than before, and ensuring durability of the gas sensor, and to provide the gas sensor having a protection cover. <P>SOLUTION: The protection cover includes: a bottom section where a mount hole is formed; a cylindrical section, where the tip is connected to the outside in the radial direction of the bottom section for extending toward the rear end side; and a large-diameter section that is connected to the rear end of the cylindrical section and is extended to the outside in the radial direction toward the rear end side. In the protection cover, the gas sensor is mounted to piping upright while interposing a protection cover at an area to the piping. In the protection cover, the inner diameter of the cylindrical section is not more than 1.7 times larger than the maximum outer diameter of a tool engagement section of the gas sensor, the height of the cylindrical section is not less than 1/2 the height of the tool engagement section and not more than 0.6 times larger than the height from the tip of the tool engagement section to that of a sealing member, the overall height of the cylindrical section is not more than the height from the tip of the tool engagement section to that of the sealing member, and the outer diameter of the rear end of the large-diameter section is not less than three times larger than the diameter of the sealing member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
