PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle sensor capable of detecting an absolute angle of a rotor with high accuracy by reducing backlash. SOLUTION: The rotation angle sensor includes: a rotor 6 having gears 24 and 25 which are arranged rotatably and rotate around a rotating shaft as a rotation center; a first driven gear 7 and a second driven gear 8 which are engaged with the gears 24 and 25, and whose rotation ratios to the rotation of the rotor 6 are mutually different; and a holding board 13 which impels the first and second driven gears 7 and 8 in directions in which the rotor 6 is pressed by the first and second driven gears 7 and 8. The sensor is so configured as to output a signal proportional to the absolute angle of the rotor 6 according to rotation angles of the first and second driven gears 7 and 8.
