An electrically powered fan heater assembly in which the heater (7) is capable of being semi-permanently attached to a mounting base (2) is disclosed. An assembly comprises a mounting base (2) which includes an electrical assembly to which electrical wiring from an electrical power source can be terminated. The fan heater (7) includes a chassis (3) to receive component parts which comprise a heating unit. There is a means to enable the chassis (3) to be removably attached to the mounting base (2). While the chassis (3) is attached to the mounting base (2) the component parts of the heating unit is electrically connected to the power source. The electric connection is made when the heating unit is placed to the mounting base (2).
